Giving Opinions: Agree and Disagree Politely

Practise expressing an opinion, giving a reason and responding politely. A communication lesson for First Baccalaureate. 1. Useful expressions Give your opinion I think that… In my opinion,… I believe that… Agree I agree with you. That is a good point. I think so too. Disagree politely I see your point, but… I am not sure I agree. I understand, but I think… Build a stronger answer: opinion + because + reason. I think reading is useful because it helps us learn new words. 2. Read a short dialogue Amine: In my opinion, learning with a partner is helpful. Salma: I agree with you because we can explain things to each other. Youssef: I see your point, but I sometimes prefer studying alone because it is quieter. 3. In, On and At: Talking About Time

A short grammar lesson for Common Core and First Baccalaureate learners. 1. Choose the right preposition IN + months, years, seasons and parts of the day: in September, in 2026, in summer, in the morning. ON + days and dates: on Monday, on 30 September, on Friday morning. AT + clock times and fixed expressions: at eight o’clock, at noon, at midnight, at night. Remember: We say “in the morning” but “at night”. We say “on Monday morning” because we name a specific day. 2. Read the examples I get up at seven o’clock. We have English on Tuesday. My birthday is in May. I revise my lessons in the evening. 3.
